West Valley cycling group embraces health, friendship and the great outdoors

The Wednesday ride is great. We call it the Happy Ride. It’s a pace where we can all talk and get to know each other and invite new people. We’ll do a group ride on Saturday and sometimes that’s really fast and you don’t get a chance to talk and chat with people. With this you get to catch up with friends and still — it’s exercising and socializing at the same time. WENDY: It’s nice to ride here in Goodyear because the route we take has few stoplights so we don’t have to stop as often. We have a huge range of cyclists from beginners to people who have been riding many years. It’s a great way to get in, learn how to ride get comfortable in a group. BRIAN: I have two boys that are 11 and 9 so I want to stay in front of them as long as possible. You feel better when you’re healthy and you stay in shape and you exercise. Six miles used to seem really far and now I ride 100 and it’s not a big deal. Everybody can start at the beginning and go from there. I’ve made some of the best friends I’ll ever have for the rest of my life because of this group.
